adventure around

This weekend to celebrate Father’s Day my family was in search of a fun and free thing to do.

A little outside of an hour away from Birmingham on the beautiful Lake Martin we went to the Alexander City Jazz Fest.

The progression of the sunset was beautiful!

The moon was beautiful as well.

Who needs Bonnaroo, we got to see St. Paul and The Broken Bones, an amazing band from right down 280 in Birmingham.

Oh and no super expensive ticket, FOR FREE.

St. Paul 1

Vocalist Paul Janeway can put on a show, from his hysterical dance moves to taking shots of Honey out of a bottle to keep the pipes ready to sing.

St. Paul 3

The horn section makes this band stand out of the crowd, you get a big band feel with a soul twist.

St. Paul 4

Guitar player Browan Lollar played a beautiful gold glittery guitar.

Here’s a playlist so you can experience St. Paul and The Broken Bones for yourself:

After that amazing set we listened to the musical talents of Green River Ordinance, a band from the great state of Texas.
